MORENO
Desirée Moreno (Higueruelas, Valencia 1997) develops her artistic practice mainly in engraving and drawing, the work process being a fundamental part of her work. She began her artistic studies in 2015 with a degree in Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València, where she began her career in art specializing in engraving and drawing. After completing her university studies, in 2019 she completed the Master of Graphic Work at the CIEC Foundation, thus expanding her knowledge in graphics.
"My concerns revolve around the idea of nature understood as a broad concept where its boundaries are blurred. I address issues such as the landscape that transits between the real and the fictitious, the dark and the luminous. I always start from the observation of the nature that surrounds me, granting me a wealth of shapes, textures and reliefs, shadows or lights... In short, the essence and physiognomy of things. In this way I transfer it to my work, thus reflecting my view and my way of understanding the landscape. I try to make the tangible and the imaginary intertwine in a combination that borders on the dreamlike. I am attracted by everything that oscillates between the abstract and the concrete, where the known and the unknown embrace a nature that perhaps is not of this world."
